For companies in the Canton of St.Gallen, the availability of suitable employees and experts is increasingly turning into a critical factor for success. That’s why the Economic Development of the Canton of St.Gallen has joined forces with neighboring cantons Thurgau and Two Appenzell to boost dynamic development and positioning of Eastern Switzerland as an attractive labor market and place to work. We deploy different tools to support companies engaged in recruitment and retention of highly qualified employees.

ProOst is a platform that aims at establishing a match between companies in Eastern Switzerland and experienced experts and executives beyond the region. During a full-day event, companies have the opportunity to present themselves as attractive employers to candidates intent on growing their careers in Eastern Switzerland. A diverse array of settings allows experts, executives and employers to get to know each other, thus setting the stage for in-depth follow-up conversations and meetings after the event.

At the so-called “Sprungbrett” (aka Launch-Pad) Events, graduates from academia and universities of applied science have the opportunity to meet with companies from the regions St.Gallen-Appenzell and Linth-Zürichsee during a half-day event. Companies take the stage to pitch themselves as attractive employers for recent graduates eager to launch their professional careers, while graduates receive the opportunity to personally introduce themselves as potential new hires to company representatives and to ask specific questions about job profiles and opportunities.
